Welcome to the very FIRST interview of some amazing women that blow my mind with every story I get to read! From a single thought to a question that I couldn’t shake.
“I can not be the only one that has a crazy schedule…by choice.”
I reached out to some amazing groups. I asked to share their story, their job, their tips and tricks of staying organized in the chaotic world we call reality. The moms of today are literally the modern day superhero. Kids, work, chores, commutes, meals, sports, school, side hustles, family, and the list doesn’t stop there.
I want to share their stories because it helped me knowing these women were just like me. Maybe it might do the same for other ladies. And along the way, pick up some new tips and tricks! Through the interview, I learned about some cool apps that I will checking out shortly 🙂
Tell us about YOU and what you DO!
Hi, there! My name is Kristy and I live in Northern California with my hubby and 2 young kids. I am the founder of ForeverSparkly.com a website devoted to the direct sales community! I blog about the best direct sales tips, social media tools, along with helpful money tips as well.
Do you have a full/part time job? Do you have a side hustle? What are they?
As a stay at home mom, I have found creative ways to earn supplemental income for myself and my family. I am an Independent Designer at Origami Owl, a company that specializes in personalized jewelry. The knowledge I have gained throughout my direct sales journey prompted me to start a website to help others in the direct sales industry grow their business online! Between my Origami Owl business and the ForeverSparkly.com blog, I secure a nice monthly income to help my family and to enjoy some fun extras! (Starbucks, anyone?!)
Walk us through a normal day of yours. Soccer games, daycare, work, dinner, ballet practices, what’s involved?
A typical day usually starts just before 7. My little one is 2 ½ so sleep is not always guaranteed! My 5 year old loves to sleep in so as I am getting myself ready in the morning, I go into my son’s room to remind him it is time to wake up! 🙂
Depending on the day, we are either taking my son to preschool or running the errands that need doing. In the afternoon we do a fun activity or I take an hour to catch up on blogging and working my Origami Owl business.
My husband works in an industry that is 24/7 and travels extensively as well. I take care of all the meals and household things (never ending, right?!) so that he can come home and have dinner and enjoy family time.Me
We split the nighttime kid routine pretty well and once we have successfully made it to bedtime, we enjoy watching shows like Westworld, House of Cards, and Big Bang Theory. We never miss an episode of @Midnight either!
How do you prioritize your to-do list?
My to-do list varies, but the “flow” of each week stays the same. I’m typically meal planning and grocery shopping on a Sunday and in the middle of the week. I make sure to note all the special things going on at preschool and any appointments in the week ahead. I keep a running list of notes about weekly goals for my blog and Origami Owl business and I make sure my social media posts are scheduled appropriately! (CinchShare is a life/time saver!)
Do you get down time in your day? If so, what’s one thing you do for yourself daily?
No fail, I have a bubble bath every single night. After the kids are in bed and chores are done, I take 30 minutes to soak and wind down from the day. I sleep better and sometimes it is the promise of a 30-minute bath that keeps me going throughout the day!
How many hours of sleep do you get on a regular basis?
I usually get 7-8 hours of sleep. Most nights it is broken up by my little one waking up. A solid 7-8 hours is what I aim for.
